Sidewalk Tripping Hazards
It is the responsibility of all Ashwood Downs property owners to replace raised and buckled sidewalks on their property. These tripping hazards can cause serious injuries and in some cases death. A tripping hazard is when there is a vertical step separation equal to or greater than one half inch.Property owners and their insurance companies can be held responsible if someone gets hurt. Sidewalk Vegitation Encroachment
It is the responsibility of all Ashwood Downs property owners to trim, prune, and maintain any vegetation that may encroach on neighborhood sidewalks.
Per City of Beaverton Code: https://beaverton.municipal.codes/BC/5.05.098
- Keep any tree, bush or ground-cover on the property from unreasonably interfering with any vehicular or pedestrian traffic occurring within the public right-of-way.
- Trim or prune any tree or bush planted on the property so that no portion of the tree or bush is less than ten feet above any roadway or less than eight feet above any sidewalk or bicycle path.
- Trim or prune any ground-cover planted on the property so that no portion of the ground-cover lies on any sidewalk, roadway or bike path.
